Benjamin's First School Field Trip

Evergreen Kids Corner took a school field trip to Homestead Organic Farm!

They watched the baby chickens get fed. They followed the big chickens, and the waddling ducks, around the apple orchard. They petted the nice farm dogs.
The kids walked out to see the turkeys, and in rushed the goats!
It was very exciting and the goats were happy to see everyone! There was a goat the kids all called "Unicorn" because he only had one horn. There was one, with a beard, who looked like he stepped off a page of a "Three Billy Goats Gruff" storybook.
Ben made friends with every goat who came his way.

Laura was our tour guide. An expert organic farmer, she was very nice and very knowledgeable. She and Henry showed us around the greenhouse, where they had just picked food for a fundraiser they were catering that night.
The kids helped harvest potatoes!

Ben bagged them and then helped pull his weight in spuds!
The sunflowers were sooooo tall!
Ben took time to smell all of the pretty flowers. Thank you to Miss Dulce and Miss Amy for setting up such a great field trip! These are lucky little kids, to go to such a great school!

Ben's First Day of Pre-Kindergarten

Benjamin had a great first day of class! He LOVES his teacher, Miss Amy! He LOVES his school, Evergreen Kids Corner Cooperative Preschool! There are 7 kids in his Pre-Kindergarten class, split about evenly between boys and girls. All the kids in his class are 4-5 years old.
He made lots of new friends and can't wait to go back tomorrow! Yay, Ben!
