August showers bring fungal towers!

The Mushroom hunter went out dressed for success!
He found King Boletes popping up all over our Aspen stand!

Some lucky deer found this big Bolete first. This fluke was about a foot wide!
Did I find an Oyster mushroom, right in my own yard?!

We are still trying to identify this one. We are pretty sure it is poisonous.

Benjamin was singing in the rain.

Benjamin sang his "mushroom song" all the way back to the house.

My Dahlias like the rain!

Back at the house, we dried off, researched our Boletes, and prepared to cook our wild crop.
Ben had a good time dissecting the sponge-like layer of Boletaceae tubes.
