Very Merry!

We loved the stuffing out of all of the thoughtful gifts we received.
Thank you and Merry Christmas to you all!

Mele Kalikimaka!

Hey! Something is missing here!

Kelsey!
Dylan's girlfriend is with family in Hawaii. We had to resort to drastic measures to cheer Dylan up.

Our idea man hasn't learned that some ideas can get you signed up to host a luau!
This innocent bystander was rather confused by the festivities, but he misses Kelsey too.

Woo Hoo! It's Christmas Time!

Dylan is home from college. We are having fun and teasing him a lot. He has gone from looking like a scruffy Shakespeare to grooming like he has a part as an "extra" in the play Fiddler on the Roof.

Our Lucy kitty has decided she had better make a last minute effort to get on Santa's "Good List". Our Sophie dog secured her place on the "Good List". She finally learned to chase the deer out of the yard! I think she is still running on adrenaline.

Benjamin is chugging along with no idea what is coming down the track this Saturday night.
Ben snubbed Santa again, at the mall yesterday. It is a good thing we took dictation and sent his letter to the North Pole.
It is warm and cozy in the sun by the Christmas Tree.

We are still watching the clouds and hoping for a white Christmas.
We have sledding to do!

Waiting For Santa

We went downtown to see Santa. However, when Ben saw Santa waving to him from across the street, he began clutching my clothing and saying, "No Thanks!". So we waved politely and went to the park instead. There will be no pictures with Santa this year, but it was a pretty great day! And, I am pretty sure Ben is still on Santa's "Good List".

Silver and Gold

Ben is busy discovering the elements of Christmas. He has observed his reflection in the glass tree ornaments. He waves at himself and says, "Hi". Dave has been busy building corrals and forts with Ben while I hurry to finish up handmade Christmas gifts.
Ben has been herding cattle and Sophie has been herding him. Sophie was spayed last week and has been healing well.
Ben is quite the accomplished potato farmer. He is officially old enough to know what all of Mr. P's parts are and where all of the parts go.

He can put on his own boots too!

He is making progress with his table manners.

He has begun to pose for photos. When I have the camera out, he often assumes a head-tilt-say-cheese position. I am guessing that, pretty soon, you will see this almost exclusively in his blog shots.

David and I celebrated the anniversary of our engagement on Wednesday. Five years ago, on a cruise ship off the coast of Cozumel, I received the most romantic proposal ever offered. I am thankful every day for our wonderful marriage!

We have a Christmas party to attend tonight, my wonderful in-laws visiting tomorrow and Dylan coming home from college next week! Life is good! I love the holidays!

I am hoping Dylan will learn this song to play on his guitar.

"Silver and Gold, Silver and Gold, everyone wishes for Silver and Gold. How do you measure it's worth? ... just by the pleasure it gives here on earth".

"Silver and Gold, Silver and Gold, mean so much more when I see... Silver and Gold decorations on ev'ry Christmas Tree".

Oh, Trismas Tree!

It gets pretty beat up everytime the dog wags by it, or Ben reaches over the gate to "pet" it. However, it is holding up pretty well. Upon seeing our tree for the first time, Ben announced that it was "Tool!".He was present for the grand entry, but went to bed before it was decorated (That is when Mom and Dad broke out the peppermint schnapps for the cocoa).
The next morning, Ben was wired! He had a lot to say about the tree! He tells me all the time about the, "Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, and Oranch Trismas Tree"! We also unpacked the Christmas books. Ben is studying hard, learning all about this "Christmas" thing that we have brought into the house. The decorations keep him busy all day long! He has a snow globe to shake, jingle bells to jingle, pine needles to sniff, Mr. & Mrs. Santa Mouse to "feed", ornaments to ogle, new music to dance to, new songs to sing, garland to grab at, and important stories to learn. Oh, he is having so much fun!
